About Arts-in-Action Music Studio
A studio rooted in experience, education, and a lasting commitment to the arts.
Our Studio
Arts-in-Action believes the arts are not extracurricular. They are essential.
At Arts-in-Action Music Studio, piano instruction is treated as a vital part of a student’s education. The studio is committed to providing high-quality instruction in an environment that values both discipline and joy in learning.
Serving families in the Greater Columbia community, Arts-in-Action offers a focused, supportive setting where students are encouraged to grow at a steady, age-appropriate pace while developing both skill and character.
Our Approach
Instruction at Arts-in-Action Music Studio is grounded in the belief that students thrive when individual learning is supported by a shared sense of community.
Lessons are structured to provide personal guidance while encouraging accountability, motivation, and connection among students. Each student’s progress is carefully supported through consistent expectations, clear goals, and thoughtful encouragement.
The studio’s approach emphasizes:
-
strong technical foundations
-
musical literacy and theory
-
exposure to multiple musical genres
-
steady, age-appropriate progression
By combining structure with encouragement, students develop not only musical skill, but confidence, discipline, and a genuine appreciation for the art of piano.

Our Founder
Robin H. Jackson is a lifelong educator and musician with more than five decades of experience in music education.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance from the University of South Carolina and later completed a Master of Education degree. Robin spent 28 years teaching in the public school system before retiring in 2008, concluding her career at A.J. Lewis Greenview Elementary School in Richland School District One. Throughout her career, she also maintained an active private teaching practice, providing piano instruction to students for over 40 years.
Through Arts-in-Action Music Studio, Robin continues her lifelong commitment to serving the arts, education, and community by providing piano instruction grounded in experience, care, and purpose.
A Vision for the Future
Arts-in-Action Music Studio is committed to long-term service within the community.
The studio’s vision includes continued growth through mentorship, thoughtful instruction, and the development of future educators who share a commitment to quality music education. As the studio looks ahead, its mission remains unchanged: to preserve the art of piano, support the next generation of musicians, and remain a trusted, community-centered place for music education.
